2S4Y Laura's Sketch 57 Challenge

I was just itching to get crafty last night - with my house guests gone now, I finally felt like I could finally make a good mess without getting staired at(!!). I wanted to try my hand at this week's sketch from 2S4Y . Not this is my second time joining a challenge by them. I don't know why, but I've always (ALWAYS) stayed away from sketches. I don't know what my reasoning is, but I have to say, I AM LOVING THIS SKETCH THING!! Alot of fun!! I made three cards (I don't seem to be able to actually stop once I start). One is with Basic Grey's "Kioshi" paper and stamps by both Hampton Art (Kewpie Babies) and Lawn Fawn (Harold's ABCs). I really love this stamp so much (takes me back to my Kewpie Doll days...sigh). The next one, I used Basic Grey's "Sugar Rush" papers - which I love - and am officially out of (boo...) and stamps from last month's Unity kit. i just love these Owls so much I could make them forever and they'd never get old. The last card is using Fancy Pants "About a Girl" papers and stamps from both Unity (singing birdies on the tree branch) and my coveted Lawn Fawn (sentiment, clouds, rain, and sun). I just cant seem to get enough of these stamps!! I wish i was a SAHM so I could stamp the day away!! Maybe some day, but for now... time to get to work. Have a great day!!

Finally, my son's mini gets finished!!

What a happy day for my boy!! My sister-in-law and niece were down from New York for the past 10 days (fun fun) so I haven't been too awful crafty (boo...). I did, however, finally finish my son's mini about his cousins. I think he got jealous because I made so many of these my word minis lately (as gifts) and so a few weeks ago he started asking for one of his own. I wanted to do his name (Christian) but my LSS (PAPER NICHE) only carries up to 8 letters so his name was a bust. I decided to do "Cousins" because that is the "theme" he wanted. I had seen (and liked) Basic Grey's "Max and Wiscars" line - alot, but don't ever really scrap my dog (JJ). Then I thought about how much my son likes animals (and pretends to BE them on a regular basis) so I figured this line would be great! There are so many goodies that go along with it too!! The Chipboard stickers, felties, buttons, etc. I kept it pretty simple as far as journaling, but heavy on the embellies - as that's what my little man requested!! I'm only posting a few pics bec I use (paint) wonky editing and basically just don't have the patience to figure out how to make it work this morning. Enjoy ;).

Lawn Fawn Goodness and my 1st 2S4Y Challenge

Just yesterday i got in my newest Lawn Fawn Stamps - SOOOO EXCITED!! I've really been seeing beautiful things being done with both the "Bake me a Cake" and "Sew Lovely" sets that I HAD to have them ASAP. I was on the Lawn Fawn Blog yesterday and Kelly Marie made a beautiful card for the 2S4Y "Laura's Sketch 52" Challenge and it inspired me to put my newest stamps to good use and join my first challenge ;). I made 3 cards. The 1st two using Lawn Fawn's "Bake me a Cake" set and October Afternoon's Thrift Shop Papers. I LOVE how these two came out (the cupcake is my fave though!!!). When I got to the cupcake card, i made the tough decidion to cut (GASP) the Happy Birthday stamp. I was sad doing it, but I was super precise and really wanted the versatility of using it horizontal OR verticle ;). I also love these papers. So bright and frilly and fun!! Next I used the "Sew Lovely" bodice with Basic Grey's "Olivia" line - I HEART this paper so much!! So fun and girly - couldn't wait to use it. Enjoy - and go get you some Lawn Fawn!! You wont be disappointed!!

More cardmaking/stamping and some goal making ;)

I hate posting twice in one day, but, oh well ;). I also got last month's kit from Unity Stamps (www.unitystampco.com). This was my 2nd kit from them - I really like their stamps - so fun and cute - and they always have cute phrases and little quotes!! But really REALLY got me this time were those OWLS!! I couldn't wait to play with them!! I LOVE how this card came out and cannot wait to use them for soooo many other things!! I also wanted to play with the Studio G "Lemonade" stamps I got from Joanne's for just $1.00, I'm guess I'm not too crazy about the card, but I love the stamp and have wanted to play with it for a while - so there ;). The "Big Day" card is for our friend who is getting married this weekend (i made the "Our Day" work album for them). I used Bo Bunny papers for both all and any buttons/twine are from Paper Trey Ink. I have to say - I'm in cardmaking bliss.

Now onto my goals... I'm going to try out for Bo Bunny's Design Team (first time going out for a DT). I know the competition will be TOUGH to say the least - Bo Bunny is one of my fave products - EVER and everything they make is SO inspiring )and it helps that everything coordinates), so I know everyone trying out will make beautiful stuff. But... I hope they pick me!!! Wish me lucksie!! xoxo.

Lawn Fawn Lovliness

Yesterday I got the sweetest compliment from my former boss who I sent one of my cards to. He was suprised that he didn't know "just how talented I was"...aw!! Needless to say i was totally inspired and went home and, after putting the kiddies to bed, went card-making crazy!! I got these amazing Lawn Fawn Stamps "Partly Cloudy"(www.lawnfawn.com) about a month ago and have literally been DYING to use them someway, somehow. Lawn Fawn has an amazing design team and Kelly Marie herself is sooooo inspiring, but I just didn't get into them (except playing) until last night!! Hope you like them.
