HorseWell hello there crafty friends!!
I haven't blogged in about 4 years and I'm happy to say I'm officially back at it!
Today I'll be sharing a card I made a little while ago using fun products by Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant I made this card for the Physical Therapists who helped my 14 y/o son with recovery after a tragic accident on Thanksgiving that left him with two broken femurs (surgery followed along with lots of PT).
He's a lot better thanks to so many amazing men and women (doctors, therapists, etc) and I had to create a little something to show our appreciation. I love the Disney movie Chicken Little - and wanted to create a card based on that theme!

For this card I took a piece of Bristol card stock and inked it up with Distress Oxides and then flicked on some water and Finetec Watercolor to create the look of stars/night sky. The alien images/dies are Lawn Fawn's Beam Me Up and the Chickadee is Mama Elephant's Favor Bag Accessories Chickie Dies - the sentiment involved a bit of cutting (GASP!) of various Pretty Pink Posh sentiments (Encouraging Greetings Stamp Set & Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set) along with Lawn Fawn's Violet's ABCs (I adore these alphas!!!). Added a few accents with a white gel pen and this baby is done!
Thanks for checking it out and I hope you have an amazing day!!

I wanted to get started back up with the acceptance of a challenge over on Jennifer McGuire's Blog. Even though I haven't posted on my blog in the past year, I've been actively making cards all this time, just haven't had (taken?) the time to post about them.
Anyway, cards are my go to way of showing others that I care. I love making them, but mostly I love the fact that randomly receiving them makes someone smile. This challenge is right up my alley :). I hope you'll consider participating and linking up as well - and I'd love to see what you create.
So, I've been watching Kristina Werner's ink smooshing videos a lot and have just fallen in love with this technique! The set of cards I'm sharing today, all use this technique with various Distress Ink colors and they all have variations of this Mama Elephant stamp set (which is SO wonderful - and versatile). I'm sending a set of these to a friend overseas. Her husband is in the Navy and they are currently stationed over in Italy - which is wonderful - but can also be really hard for a new mama with 2 little boys and no family or friends nearby. I wanted to make her smile and brighten her day. Hopefully a bunch of these cuties will do the trick!

I am so inspired I can hardly help myself! I've got another post over on the CC2G Blog - This one is to make a mini book! If you've never tried to make one, you must rectify that immediately! They're a great way to start scrapbooking - but as I'll share today - not JUST for scrapbookers. So, I wanted to share a fun idea I saw on Pinterest. We all know that Ashley Cannon Newell is amazingly talented right? Well, she has a FANTASTIC tutorial on how to make a mini book/card set. Go check it out, I'll wait.
The video itself is just flawless. You know, some videos when you go to create your own version of the project - it just ends up...off...somehow. Sizing doesn't quite work, you've got to tweak things... it doesn't quite come out how the person in the video's project did - technique wise (does this happen to anyone else - or just me?!?). Rest assured crafty girls - that will not happen to you with this tutorial. Flawless I'm telling you. Here is my take on this awesome project.

On this 2nd mini book, I only used kraft paper to construct it, then just embellished the covers. I thought it would be too "plain" but that's not the case at all! The cards are so fun that they add the fancy it needs :)
Cute right - and very easy. I kept my pages "clean" or plain (just like Ashley did in her video). That way the cover of the mini and the cards were the stars of this show :). Each pocket includes one card and a standard A2 envelope. I love the prospect of gifting it to someone as a card set, but encouraging them to use it as (or maybe give it to some one to use it as) as a mini "scrapbook" or picture holder afterward. Each pocket can fit about 10 pictures comfortably - which means this can hold up to about 50 pictures and is a great gift for peeps with kids in their lives. Give one of these to Grandma and after she's used all of the cards, she can fill it up with pictures and whip this baby out of her purse and show off her grandbabies in the blink of an eye!
Anyway, I've made 4 of these in the past 5 days! It's THAT kinda easy and they are so much fun. I have big plans for these adorable mini books - I'm thinking Teacher Appreciation Day, friend's birthdays, etc. These are going to make lovely gifts.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that. I can't WAIT to see the minis you all come up with. Won't you play along with me?!? This one is hosted by the fabulous Tiff and I was super excited about it too! I love incorporating mixed media into my cards. Even if it's just mashing some guesso into the background or using a stencil with some plain white molding paste. Mixed media can mean SO many things - and all of them are just fantabulous!
Here are my cards:

So what I've done is made a little card set using a variety of acrylic paint, masks and mists to create backgrounds/card bases. (I mean, I made a BUNCH of them - it was glorious - see!!!)

Then I stamped/heat embossed them with one of my most adored stamps ever by Christy Thomlinson. I just feel so empowered when I see this image.
Will you be playing along with us? I'd love to see your mixed media projects! I am so excited to be hosting this challenge over on the CC2G Blog today! Aren't all the challenges so fun?!? So many talented ladies on this DT!
Do you ever add photos to your cards? I've seen this wonderfully done on Pinterest and was excited to give it a try.
Ok, so sometimes I post random pictures on Instagram/Facebook of rainbows, rainy days, the sun bursting through the clouds (does everyone else do this too?). I get so inspired by the sky. God is just seriously amazing - and I feel WONDER when I look up. I wanted to add that - a little wonder - to my cards ;).
So in case you don't know about them, let me share, there is a lovely company (SocialPrintStudio ) that I use to print my Instagram photos. If you don't "know" them yet, you need to get on that. The photos are amazing quality - thick, sturdy, beautiful photos (and pretty dang cheap as well!!!). The last time I placed an order with them, I added a bunch of my Insta pictures of the sky - so I was VERY excited about this challenge!!
Here are the cards I created:

For both of these cards I went deep into my stash and got out some patterned paper I hadn't played with in a while. Paired that with my Lawn Fawn Polaroid die, American Crafts Polaroid die, Paper Smooches sentiment stamps, and some twine/sequins for fancy :). I love how they came out! Hope you guys play along with me and this Photo On a Card Challenge!! I cant wait to see what you create!! Don't forget to stick with us CC2G gals all day - the fun wont stop cause it can't stop!! I'll be back later participating in the Mixed Media Challenge and I also made a so fun mini book/card set that I'll be sharing later - so stay tuned friends!

I know I've been an awful blogger, but the gals over at Lawnscaping Challlenge Blog had a wonderful theme I couldn't refuse! Their most recent challenge (#86) is...WATERCOLORING!! How could I not play?!? I've been LOVING watercolor cards lately, so I was super excited to play along!!

So, do you guys do Pinterest?!? I am in love with the site, personally. No, I don't fill boards with imaginary wedding stuff or clothes I'd love to wear. Mostly I use Pinterest for inspiration. I love finding a "punny" little images that I can incorporate into my cards.
So, when I see something like this:

I totally think: THAT COULD BE A CARD!!
Immediately I realized I have this awesome Critters Down Under stamp set that I actually won from Lawn Fawn, but haven't actually inked up yet - it was perfect!! Here is my card for the Lawnscaping #86 Challenge:

^ obviously, that is the inside of the card :). As you can see, I changed my sentiment from "koalifications" to "KOALAfications" - seemed necessary :). The alpha set that I used here is Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABCs which is my favorite Lawn Fawn alpha set (that I currently own). I just stamped the image and letters with black archival ink and clear heat embossed it.
There you have it, a punny little birthday card! Thanks for peeking! Can't wait to see everyone's creations!Heather Innusahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16102289744697803313noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667334416126340928.post-62523458086748128172014-06-27T09:20:00.002-04:002014-06-27T09:20:53.075-04:00CupCards To Go Summer Sneaks!!Hi everyone! I'm trying to be a consistent blogger - can you tell?!?
Today I wanted to share a fun card I made using this fun Lawn Fawn Owl (that I got for free back in November/December) & the Woodgrain Background along with a few left over scraps of ribbon from the Feb 2014 CC2G Kit

Isn't it too cute. I used My Minds Eye Chalkboard black paper then heat embossed all of the stamped images. It was super simple, but turned out to be one of my favorites!
Hope it inspired you today! Heat embossing it so very fun!Heather Innusahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16102289744697803313noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667334416126340928.post-5547565678749777892014-01-28T08:00:00.000-05:002014-01-28T08:00:00.758-05:00CC2G Challenge - Feb 2014!Hi there! Hope everyone's Tuesday is off to a great start. Today I wanted to share with you a little Challenge happening over on the CC2G Blog
The Challenge is to: Create a card or tag with a pocket or a hidden compartment for a love note of some kind.
Here is my card for the Challenge:

So, I'm sure you've noticed I haven't been posting on my blog. I have still been getting crafty; making cards, projects, art journaling, etc. I just haven't shared them here in forever. Hopefully that changes today :).

Long time so see huh?!?
Yes, I've been just really busy and not really making time for my crafty fun :( boo. I know. I did take some time last weekend to make a few cards though - and it was glorious! I missed it. A lot.
I wanted to make a few Valentines Day cards - seeing as it's about that time. My son's class is doing something cool where the parents can come in early, before school, on V-Day and decorate their child's desks. Cute idea. Anyway, I made a couple cusie decorations to stick to his desk, but I also wanted to make him a card. This is it:

These are all October Afternoon patterned papers, buttons & twine from PaperTrey Ink, Wooden goodies from Studio Calico, and the the awesome "You make me Smile" stamp is from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Friend" stamp set :)
I wanted to enter this into Lawnscapings (#51) V-Day Challenge

I was inspired by the reds/browns in the LF inspiration photo.
That's all for me today. Hopefully I get to crafting/posting more often. Kinda miss it ;). Have a great day!

I know I’ve been M.I.A from blogging lately. I’ve just been focusing on living life. Things have been busier than ever it seems, and I’ve just been trying to keep up with it all. Plus, right now we have my sister-in-law and niece visiting from NYC - which is keeping us busier than usual ;). I have been creating: cards, and some lovely felt creations too, but I just haven’t been taking the time to share/post them :(.

Today I did wanted to share a card I made for the Young Crafters Unite “Layers” Challenge that’s going on right now :). <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXoDTClnmTPS58YeR_x-F9xtJTNlSyQtUcM1mqoYQz5rdDSwND8UCHZjppjcjqedfsth0K4V9eI66mINQNHKxMqtNGwJVvmXsFK7W_xU0zoJEqLvrZ1rzDN0jRUFDsNxN96xwvrrfkahoD/s320/DSCN1338.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5759106911462737426" /> {In case you can’t tell from the picture, I popped the hot air ballon up using foamies for added dimension} I made this card for one of the teachers at my daughter’s preschool. Her birthday is on Monday :).

Everything on the card - except the cutsie doily (which is from Michaels) came in the Simon Says Stamp June Card kit! I really like their card kits. I don’t usually like buying kits, but this one appealed to me - the Basic Grey patterned papers are so lovely! And the elements are too. I’m loving the colors on this card!

Thanks for peeking in on me :). Hopefully I’ll be back to posting more often soon!
Heather Innusahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16102289744697803313noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667334416126340928.post-60000249160299451042012-06-05T07:11:00.004-04:002012-06-05T07:11:00.520-04:00Fun with dies, Lawn Fawn, & patterned paper!!Hi there! It seems like I’ve been very scarce here on my blog. Just been busy with work, life, and books. I’ve still bee visiting blogs, just not creating and posting as much as I used to. Hopefully I’ll try to balance it all out so I can do everything I love to do. This weekend, I did get very busy making cards!! Woo hoo!! It was so fun and I realized how much I’ve missed getting my hands dirty ;). I recently purchased THIS SUPER CUTE DIE from Lil’ Inker Designs (I picked up the mini version too). I had tons of fun playing with it!! Who does not love bow ties?!? I know I do.

So, this weekend, I went seriously OCD cleaning out my supplies. Donating a TON of patterned paper to my daughter’s preschool. While I was doing that, I found a bunch of good scraps from some baby shower invites that I made for a friend a few months ago (using My Minds Eye patterned paper). I knew they were a must for a few bow tie card sets!! It worked out perfectly and I made 16 cards just using left over scraps, a few sentiments found in various Lawn Fawn stamp sets (OF COURSE, hello!!), some doilys, and that adorable die!!! Here is a look at a few of the cards I made: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtaqa_CExGEZBgrS3oqVIp6WOldDrE3nIDjCqWq1_uA5djusOZICrgjs_C9OpQKD2_w3uR_DwyZlBVY86BcTD_znhp_iuAtFbkAd30zVyCB4Hwf6OLAsE_k-vNy-Xww-BZA2Ct03GEhYWY/s320/DSCN1296.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750202418524103106" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwf0HCyFnoopl9SuFaZkmK-cBmQ1SmVtxSTI-33HQblUM4yWp7BMThejZ17ridGiikpJitV1V6KXvk67kjIcMXEEEzo1xcVRlsbGB2nRKqco4fXjFoxr77k4OA5HmwxA-aYYeAsiG_a6md/s320/DSCN1295.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750202417124885298" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheSVLUup_ImNEynyKdt96MdgtnOB49z4UpfezuA6eI_zSpJcZ6AmFc-YT6pqsExQXIK_K0DixG6KE1Yp6sV0USVjbtY1-78bmhAV-QQBFT23muL2aOplHVfHKPA4XvQ-CSbuGnzbRW7HFF/s320/DSCN1294.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750202408409713234" /> Then here are a few more cards I made using Crate Paper’s new “Pretty Party” collection (Oh my, I love this collection!!!): <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtrnteE2wHxymzQ9JQeFHa8zR5i1tOo82TNGvH0ESl_5bkmwdHmmltnwykKaLCug37jOtQmWk8QrdFhLGx_yzxvTlrOzxcdDwpBFCTRh-kxjvXG9FCCSnWz0ShwgmQahv-1PHmmXrIfSln/s320/DSCN1299.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750203605553471426" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJT71g0gKs3ca2nofmvUhN_qjMrWihsyiBwfZl_Y-hpdAu3cEELC5bBYTI_yF2uhMcH5aqyr7aSoo_nyUakgcKXdP9vaT8hGhUZ8a6UCD62f-cducGxai_mre8IVl-HRd-7PlbSHvxua68/s320/DSCN1297.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750203597991311394" /> These projects would be perfect for Lawnscapings “Patterned Paper” challenge going on right now, are you playing along with that one?!? <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfpn_z4OusNHxTXthYbkWkFSC2N1jTcBBmgVgKnvJezMQfX0_h4mlEbeLOizVX6yUA1hg0-px8QiljHYWPU1EYbtmTKiPJ95WyYhD_K-B5_OHeH7TUywNPw4ikkPsopeknD3PkRlL8dTGO/s320/patternedpaper.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750200781188031442" /> I’m going to send a set to a friend who made a special request for cards a few months ago (right about the time that my mojo skipped town). Thanks for stopping by, I'm so very happy to be creating a special project for the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog today! As you guys know, Lawnscaping is truly near & dear to my heart and has been since it's inception! Anything involving Lawn Fawn - I'm there!!!

This particular challenge is so exciting for me personally, because the theme is Patterned Paper!!!!! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjep15pvjTexQsbFpofdktmCFn5CuQbwLzTIl7FcRWm9UkjY0fyta-xcchAa0DM1npFgpwHziJkRbSj_9FhFeFMkaBuALMO6_n9cSjfUzLHQu7WL0MxVBltNyFrnOhuHeZABTs-NgjZhyphenhyphen88/s320/patternedpaper.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750168588134328162" /> Woot-Woot!! I love patterned paper - especially because I love paper piecing in every way. For me it's very therapeutic! All that precise cutting is good for the soul ;). Here is a looksie at my card: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiakktkAWYfHO2SS5jd8vmrLnJXyaiM9RnJa_myNC9vGNacioWh2TMHPWPaWqWbsHKOMjTqhXK3JbGJcKLUx_SWLW6684QXPzuVXDTGO87EbBmfzWRQe2sZLMGnP5QQ7gjQFyP243GOjB28/s320/DSCN0373.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740154162870469170" /> Usually, when I make a card using paper piecing, I use patterned paper, but today, I decided to stamp all of my images (all from Lawn Fawn's AMAZING Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set) onto Copic coloring paper and color - them paper piece them onto my card. I popped up one of the images to emphasise the sentiment: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU4mQ65iQQyc4f9_z2oWw1WxxL307EGNHuwTuLLcBOguatlAjAXok5EYfmhokC4pK0EM9kd0iNlZudmD53vtQVm4DqNtj_B7jNpvO3VAWWbRgGDy59eOhst8efNq3Kpmc_5XF7Km7ITNxk/s320/DSCN0369.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740156431352712018" />

The few pieces of patterned paper that I did use (for the background/sky & grassy hills) came from Lawn Fawn's 6x6 Bright Side Petite Paper Pad. Here is a look at all the goodies that I used: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgyCeEOtiFI0WAaohPzzob_Zk_MlEOyZecCFvnW39U2JVbyGDc17FrA1uvnz5qoLYUMsqsLGcnpz4Hv3g4F14Sj6KpWMuFqD8TXLteExmHpkkFWVQK2wIucLHjocnrT4b_wh4jw3_a3CTA/s320/DSCN0364.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740155447101676962" />

The sentiment was the 1st thing I came up with - it inspired the entire card. One of the things I LOVE about Lawn Fawn is their ABC sets. This particular set is "Jessie's ABCs" - a personal fave of mine! I love it that I can use these ABC sets to create any punny sentiment that I like! I do love a good pun!

On the inside I stamped a simple "Hi" ;). <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid-dUw0Idc0_zmcgrmkUwUTadtuxVEZRZQMUuYZgCvmRnIHO7YEU2awTa6L0LX5pzjkWehvNjXe8A-aZbhSBpOsfl_CzRa1K9-qeBb1pSjeBHNKTXf-5dJhC5HH5WwyxhlLbGUsvDgnuTl/s320/DSCN0371.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740157239106396594" /> Just a fun card for a friend! Lawnscaping #32 ChallengeHi there!! Hope everyone is doing good! I've been utterly uncrafty recently :(. Sad but true. I've been reading The Fifty Shades of Grey series and it's taken me hostage (HAHA). Its a really good series - a bit (AHEM!) risque, but also a very good story.
Anyway, I can't craft and read at the same time, so I've mildly taken a break. I did complete a week of Project Life this weekend, but I'm not ready to share that yet. Today, I wanted to share with you my card for Lawnscaping's "Create a Scene" Challenge

"Happy Birdday" (!!!) I love me a good pun :). Anywho - thanks for peeking in on me today! Oh, how I've missed blogging! First, I was working on cards for the Papercrafts Mag's Christmas issue (*fingers crossed*), then my sister in law & niece came down from NY to visit for 2 weeks, AND I was working tirelessly on my booth for the Relay for Life! WHEW! It's been a very busy few weeks for me!

While we had tons of family fun - I have missed creating cards & my Project Life pages :(. Anyway, today I wanted to join Kelly Marie/Lawn Fawn in the Operation Write Home “Make em Laugh” contest :). I love this contest for SO many reasons, the most being that I have no greater respect than for those brave men and women who serve our country - and their amazing families!!!!! Both my mom and dad were in the Air Force, as were both of my uncles. My grandpa was in the Navy and 4 of my cousins continue to serve in both the Army and Air Force! Much love for our service men and women!

The card that I’m entering into this contest and will be sending to the peeps at Operation Write Home is actually a card that I submitted to the last Papercrafts Mag call. No, it didn’t get picked :( boo, but I think it’s really fun! I saw an image (doodled) on Pinterest and KNEW that I’d HAVE to make it into a card using my beloved Lawn Fawn Stamps!! The telephone from LF's Just My Type set is PERFECT, and I used (my fave alpha set from Lawn Fawn) Sally's ABCs for the sentiment. So, here it is: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipEWbt-1Sf0cNFwFp-acW81qEWnD0DkIQdqy2EmO3TIbgXHNTpD5SrsK3oPShKWfo4rPbUDtbrOgC6_LcPoU_HC_XW4o4hw1yP4dFgr2uEd115zyo8jSvFth3jOWcu4ETh4NKnPgppXQg4/s320/DSCN0612.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5731994241909180882" /> TeeHeeHee!

Cute huh? I think it’s especially a fun card to send to Operation Write Home. I hope it makes someone’s day! If you haven't already will you consider joining in this contest and making/sending a funny card in for Operation Write Home?!? If you do, I wanna see it, so let me know! That's it for me today. Thanks for peeking in on me - I hope you guys have a fabby Monday friends!Heather Innusahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16102289744697803313noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667334416126340928.post-59866372676057374012012-04-06T00:00:00.009-04:002012-04-06T00:00:10.904-04:00Lawnscaping SPRING Blog Hop!!!!Hi hoppers!!!! Welcome to the Lawnscaping SPRING Blog Hop!!!!!!! I’m so happy you’ll be hopping with us today :). Sharing our mutual love of Lawn Fawn Stamps is my favorite thing about the Lawnscaping Blog!! They always have the best challenges - and I LOVE seeing what everyone creates!

You should have made it my way from the blog of the most talented Jeanette Marchand. Isn’t her blog background alone absolutely ADORABLE!?!?!?!?!?!

Ok friends, so our theme today is Spring!!! YAY :) <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR7NJKtvE2XEp86pfl3WlPM5RUorWjtzAbH5Ee5JcDJfBs0GOjmqV-jULX-FDLNxih-s0w3FuqU6wvFK8fBLffZaFeMJqiZCM30nlAGsK9X6_PoZ318YdzFs3-A19m9TXB4XN71f2BZZ7D/s320/11.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722711498747111138" /> The hop will run from today, Friday, April 6th to Sunday, April 8th - which happens to be both my son, Christian’s 7th Birthday and also EASTER!!!! Woo Hoo! Perfect weekend for a Spring themed blog hop dontcha think - say yes ;). So, you’ll have all weekend to hop along and be inspired - there are SO many talented ladies involved in the hop - I just can’t wait to see for myself what everyone’s created!!

Don’t forget: besides buckets full of inspiration, the 2nd best part about a blog hop is the fabulous prizes that the Lawnscaping gals have in store for us!!! We’re talking goodies from Sweet Stamp Shop, and LAWN FAWN themselves!!! You’ll want to comment on everyone’s blogs for the best chance to win. If you get lost along the way, remember, you can always head straight back to the Lawnscaping Blog. They’ve got ya covered.

My project for today is not a card, but a fun classroom snack project that I made for the kiddlets in my daughter, Alivia’s, preschool class. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPB8bNkWeAZTFFpu1LAg7az0bP9c0pXgjrbZrHWyPC_mPCiW8oJLwdfTWah9YsDayAUi-Il-nqRFBpHAwXY_vvruNYNjeBKHwbZ-0rbzAYnU0zoyqnAOUVIigZbJLedGG47sbRROyCZ0lO/s320/1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722711856927109378" /> What preschooler DOESN’T like goldfish right?!? These were super fun and pretty easy to make. I just assembly lined ‘em up and finished in no time. Here is somewhat of a little picture tutorial I created so that you could see my process.

{Not Pictured - First, I used my Cuttlebug and a few Spellbinders Dies to cut out a scalloped circle in Easter themed paper - nothing fancy, since you really wouldn't see much of it. I just wanted a pretty pop of color for that scalloped background. Then I cut a white circle using the same process (with Neenah Solar White cardstock). Like I said, I did these assembly line style, so I did all the scallops, all the circles, then moved on to decorating the white circles, before attaching them to the scalloped circles}.

Here's where the fun starts - to decorate them, first and foremost, I stamped the grass from Lawn Fawn's newest set "Gnome Sweet Gnome" as a little hilly/grassy area (using Peeled paint Distress Ink). I lOVE love love how you can bend the grass and shape it however you like - big plus!!

Next I used a finger ink dauber to apply the other Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass for the sky and Shabby Shutters for the grass). Once those were all done, I stamped the ADORABLE bunny from Lawn Fawn's Silly Valentine Stamp Set and colored him in with Copics: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiERu8LiD1rUPjlANF0j4PX9SaxKKByJgepWTyViPlzHOmb9IS8aJfg1WJxJVAq4btJMPTG-WZwffFhpPr5x5mrUhNPtBvwv4Knw4nEE0T9vFn5tjbp8ccWq4M6BqW_lvGdklB3fN4zwuH2/s320/2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722713745399280978" /> Then I got to work on my sentiment "Hoppy Easter" using Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABCs (my favorite ABC set, by the way). This was really the only tedious part, as I wanted the sentiment at a slant - around the circle - so I had to stamp each letter one at a time - which I did assembly line style for convenience: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvGtSCPQIb4vRry2VwMKDFAVUTXDTrOYR0GDde9HvD49k65L0TvQyp1PqyTBn9HDZexvB-am8INJf5gPnVz7Gf_GVxaQO7yPe4i5aYf84WNavC0h3HBlAeL727khrYuCxEJSrSe5xIYuwv/s320/3.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722715307453781746" /> After I attached the circle to the scallop, I flipped them all over and stamped "love, Alivia" on each one using Lawn Fawn's "Sophie's Sentiments" (for the word "love") and "Smitty's ABCs" to spell out my daughter's name: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6aIVBwWIxnv4Nr-IeW88vO1-_yw05zdVNe5f7X-Bo3mTuGLzz3m9kpcFu3eO9H5Soljz8KnfccZ1OUjxY3UNuiXD8r9ioWOyVvNw8C27NCStZZQ83_9ID_-XL2Q11_C56fReNjpcG6jYN/s320/4.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722715902395049986" /> Next, I went onto my eyelet stash and fished out a bunch of different colored green mini eyelets and set them using my Crop-a-dile: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw7vmYOjgc8lSpJoWahmAOgEJdzCuTRRD40_pbOCJwrUW6lwo7OXWLF-8ULQuQIN408Z8btzblqE3a3FlKVw1Kj6SXpvU4be80rAs7oIqG-YduFlf55M1wG5SDNKh4-ppLjVFLk8kTZCsN/s320/5.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722716296564762946" /> And then I had this part (the fun part) of the project completed: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjeKVDXHtd6AsJvkPcby2Nh16Bp0d17N7rWdiHTv-M2qOeRTd13qVP3BmfTWv87N2y-CMuIDJ2__gWgmtVZYZMP2OYosMKhCc4npYW346_w5jmsU9S-SSsce7isFFb6vnKPVSr8PKLQXwt/s320/6.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722716577889391154" />

For the triangle baggies, I got those at Michaels in the seasonal section: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYjXgw-RYuK-yMOZ6lDZbLmGncy3mf-7SnG_C8Y4DFHX60L9dGo2D4CgUPimAMNPR6_opKOH-A2YUBO3hJ8O278zBBOvcqiw0Kqj6m66mgc-aYSjPlV3toR1fPES-uS4V6Rr3BsrPAJclM/s320/7.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722716855005557858" /> I only used the bags from the kit (saving the other items it came with for some other use another time). I have to tell you, this was not very cost effective. I bought 2 of them at $2.99 each (and each kit included 8 bags). Last week, I found some on Etsy *here* - much cheaper - 25 bags for $3.95!! Just lookin' out for my peeps :). I actually found out about that shop from Chari. I scooped up a set and also a few of their amazing Washi tapes too - great shop - full of goodies and super quick processing/shipping.

That’s it for me :). I made 17 of these babies in just a few hours: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1AbHrjip2as2rtC7xuR6zm2zyRAqZuBB-mTvXAfGbn0-mACyyq2X5eNqUJmmqfMFAz90rDAD6dB5yUWHO4OKZqkrYsUmeM-N9z17xaoDRQaeOCLvFWAzcSJK-aSeBohaR7gTiY5iy3dkf/s320/1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722719120963692050" /> Thanks for hopping my way. My Project Life is way lacking. Last weekend, I was so busy cleaning/organizing my house, that I didn't have any time to play. Plus, I'm working on a few Christmas(y) projects for the most recent Papercrafts Magazine call. Christmas - in April HA! I've completed a few projects I'm proud of, I hope to actually get published - a little personal goal for this year.

Anyway, it's Tuesday, Project Life share day. Today, I'm sharing Week 4 with you. I didn't have a lot of pictures for this particular week. Just one of myself - which is SO odd, I can not begin to tell you!!! I never take pictures of myself!! I just happen to one day (I'm trying to be in my kids' memories too). Other than that what I saved from week 4 (Feb 20-26) was mostly my kids' work. Art they'd made and a spelling test of my son's - who turns 7 on Easter!!

Here's a look at the full pages: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPavx_llwVHcK8UKk3oCffzeRxXPxfvBsYLfZR7GMojhV9ssdEm0NU3er0U0GlXNpko1ygUqcnt1rC7EGsg0qlOLNHdHoYeY-XV57ee59SHLNfFJl23N5qePYGBsh5jxK7z34DVEBfE86O/s320/DSCN0677.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5727195085342913490" /> I used Basic Grey's Hopscotch collection on these pages.
