bee happy - YCU #8 & SSS Bingo Challenges

Another Monday friends. YAY (enter scarcasum here). My weekend was just too short as always, but, I am thankful for it just the same :).

Today I wanted to share with you a card that I made to enter into the Young Crafters Unite "Sewing/Stitching" Challenge. I've been bummed for a while because my sewing machine (which is literally JUST used on paper) wouldn't thread properly. I was determined to make it cooperate this weekend - and was rewarded by my efforts!

I used Lawn Fawn stamps and their 6x6 Petite Paper Pack to create a quilty card: I started by cutting a bunch of strips of paper and weaving/tacking them down to a card base. Then I ran it through my sewing machine. The images here on the card are from a variety of Lawn Fawn Sets: Say Cheese, Gnome Sweet Gnome, Bon Voyage, and Partly Cloudy. The polaroid is popped up with foamies for a little added dimension, and I finished the card off with some bakers twine (The Twinery), a giant pearly brad (Pink Paisley), and some sparkly gems (Prima). I love - just LOVE - how it came out. Makes me super happy! I love the LF patterned paper. It is so bright and fun!!! Perfect for cards! I'm also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp (who doesn't LOVE Simon Says Stamp? I just placed ANOTHER order with the today!!!) Bingo Challenge because I incorporated brads, twine, & a giant pearly brad. I think it works. This is such a fun one - play along & let me know so I can peek at your project too ;). Anyway, thanks for peeking! Have a great day!!!

Sending love your way - Lawnscaping #30!!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping in to see me today! I’ve been working on so many fun projects and can’t wait to get around to sharing them all with you guys :). Today, I’m sharing my entry into Lawnscaping’s “Inspired by” (#30) Challenge. I can’t believe this is Lawnscaping’s 30th challenge already! Super exciting for Lawnscaping - and super fun for us. I’m so happy that we have a challenge blog exclusively for Lawn Fawn Stamps! I do SO love playing with mine.

I made a card that was inspired by a beautiful card that Christy made back for the “Thankful” challenge back in November. Here’s a look: Is that not one of the most gorgeous cards you’ve ever seen?!?!?! I just LOVE every square inch of it. The colors, the adorable multicolored turkey (!!!), the gems, and especially how the rustic twine shabby’s it all up! It’s the perfect mix of shabby and fancy!!!! But Christy is always making great cards! You’d be hard pressed not to be inspired by one of her creations!

Anyway, here is a look at my card:
I know, I know, next to her card it’s rather drab - I love it, don’t get me wrong :):):), but my card was inspired by the rustic twine, paper (company - which is My Minds Eye), and the fun little sentiment on a banner.

I used a few of Lawn Fawns newest sets, Gnome Sweet Gnome and You’ve Got Mail. Copic coloring the cute gnome and mushroom. {{I have to say - I’m just in LOVE with these two sets!!!}} I incorporated some Papertrey Ink Rustic Twine and a doily (from Michaels) for a little daintiness ;) and popped up the mushroom guy with a foamy.

That’s it for me. I can’t wait to see what inspires everyone else!! I hope you have an amazing day!!!

What a great collection for any type of project, with it’s pinks, reds, teal, yellow and gray!!! Just a great collection all around!! Here’s a look at my Week 3:

and there you have it Week 3 off the "to do" list-a-roo ;). Today, once again, I'll be linking up with One Happy Mama & The Mom Creative Blogs. If you have a chance, you should totally check them out - so SO much inspiration!!!!

Project Life - Week 2

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! So, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve designated Tuesdays to be the day I share my Project Life Layouts :). I’m currently on Week 2! Behind I know, story of my life. Once again, I’m linking up with both The Mom Creative and One Happy Mama. I love checking out the two of those blogs to see everyone else’s Project Life adventures.
I did something fun this week. I cut one of the 12x12 pages down a bit because I had so many pictures and didn’t want to leave them out. I did leave some of them out, but the ones that I did include were selected by my 6 year old and he said they were all essential - of course, that’s my word, not his ;). Anyway, I thought it helped me to add in extra pictures, while still tying them all together as one week.

As for supplies, I used American Crafts' "Amy Tangerine" collection. Lots of fun goodies to play with!!! I didn't have a picture of my niece, Paige, for this particular week, so I used her handwriting and the sweet silhouette cut out representing her presence :). Here's the goodies:

So, that’s it for Project Life Week 2! Thanks for peeking in on me. I hope you have a great day!!!

Snail mail - coming your way!! Lawnscaping #29 Sketch

Hi there! I was SO SUPER EXCITED to get my new Lawn Fawn Stamps {from Simon Says Stamp) yesterday!!! I was so trigger happy to get them, that when Laurel said they had the newbies in stock, I immediately placed the order! I have a few friends having Birthdays this week, and so, I'll be stamping the nights away - YAY!

Since the SECOND I saw the new "You've Got Mail" stamp set; I had this idea to use the sweet little snail from LF's Critters in Burbs set (sadly, I don't use this little guy enough) to make some SNAIL MAIL!!!!!! EEK! I love it! I used these two stamp sets plus Sally’s ABCs and the little heart from the Plus One Stamp Set (on the little letter). I combined these adorable stamps with Lawn Fawn's new 6x6 Petite Paper Pack, a bit of lush Dear Lizzy flowered ribbon that was in my stash, and this *fabulous* Air Mail {Divine} Twine. To create the sentiment, I simply inked up the “sending” and the “your way” portion of the sentiment that is included in the You’ve Got Mail Set with Sally’s ABCs ;).

I made this card TOTALLY inspired by the Lawnscaping Challenge #29!! The challenge is this fabulous sketch . What a great sketch right?!? The DT did great things with it too - and they have the amazable Chari as a Guest DT Member, so if you haven't yet, you totally need to go check it out!!!

I'm so very excited about all of the new Lawn Fawn goodies! In addition to the goodies mentioned above, I also snatched up the "Gnome Sweet Gnome" and "Flying By" stamp sets, and the single Lawn Trimmings in Natural. Let the fun begin!!!

Anyway, I hope you'll play along with Lawnscaping's Challenge! They rock!!!

YAY I started my Project Life -Title pages & Week One!

Hi there! Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I wanted to share with you {one of} the creative journeys that I'll be taking over the course of this year - I've finally decided to bite the bullet and start my “Project Life” album!! I'm super excited about it :). I purchased the a PL binder and some page inserts the first week of January, but things have been so incredible busy, and honestly, I felt a bit intimidated by the whole thing.

However, I love the idea of Project Life {check out this link to Becky Higgins' Project Life website for more info and LOTS of inspiration!!}. I love the idea of daily documenting, documenting life as it’s happening. I can scrap weekly or daily, depending on how I feel or am inspired. Document those little things that I may miss when scrapbooking full layouts (because sometimes I'm scrapping a photo from yesterday, and other times I'm scrapping a photo from last year).

So, my thought process here is that I can keep up with the everyday and then later really scrap full layouts of events and things (if I choose to - which I'm sure I will) and the memory will have been documented and I think it will make the memory more real - the journaling more personal.

I have a really busy life {WHO DOESN'T} with kids, family, working full time. I don't know that I’ll get daily pictures in. I plan to try. But I really really do love the idea of Project Life. Most people {as far as I know} start the Project Life journey at the beginning of the year, however, being the rebel I am, I’ve started mine in February ;).

Ok, anyway - sorry - long drawn out post! I promise that the rest of my PL posts will not be like this one.

So, to help me on this journey, as I mentioned I purchased a Project Life Binder and some of the cool page inserts off of Amazon. As for supplies, I’m totally and exclusively using items from my own stash; which is, I’m gunna go a head and say it, embarrassingly extensive. I think part of my papercrafting “hobby” has been collecting/hoarding the goodies {not in a weird HOARDERS way, but in a neat organized OCD way. Patterned paper, embellishments, stamps, distress inks... well, the list is entirely too long to go through.

Also, I joined an online journal “OhLife” - which is really cool! Super easy and free :). I set it up so that every night at 9pm (after the kiddies are asleep and my day winds down) I get an email from OhLife that says “It’s *date* How did your day go?”. I simply reply to the email (which I receive on my phone - again, super easy) and there you go, the day is documented. I can log in to my PhLife account anytime and view my journaling to assist with Project Life. Easy Peasy.

Today I wanted to share my title page(s) AND my Week 1 layout. PSST - see how I incorporated some Lawn Fawn Stamps in there hee hee :).
{Title Page}

This is the second page. It's kind of a "getting to know us" page. With a open up pockety/folder which includes a letter to my family from me, as I start this journey of our 2012 year and my favorite e.e. cummings poem:

This page is about who we are right now. Mainly the kids:
Lastly these are the pages that make up {Week One - Jan 30 - Feb 5} and here is a closer look at the individual pages of week one:
As you can see, for these first few pages, I've used plenty of Crate Paper (which is always one of my faves!!!). I really love how they came out. I also love the shapes/sizes of the pockets. FUN!

I'm linking up with a few websites today {One Happy Mama & The Mom Creative} that make it a point to share Project Life Layouts. and You should totally check them out. Prepare to be inspired (and attached to the computer screen for a little while). It's only the beginning, and I'm still a bit intimidated, but I think this will be great fun!

Thanks for peekin' in on me. Tomorrow I'll be popping in to share my card for Lawnscaping's Sketch Challenge! I loved that sketch and honestly, couldn't wait to tear open my newest Lawn Fawn Stamps to play along!!! if you join in, please let me know so I can hop over and check your card out!!!
